Rev. David Ocansey Inducted as General Secretary

The Rev. David Narteh Ocansey was formally inducted into office as General Secretary of the Ghana Baptist Convention on February 4 at All Souls Baptist Church in Osu in Accra.

The Rev. Dr. Stephen Asante, President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, charged the General Secretary "to rescue the mission of God and make life bearable to the poor and needy in the Baptist society."

Ribbon Cutting at Baptist Vocational Training Center Kitchen-Dining Facility

August 12, 2011, was an occasion of great joy and thanks to God as the new kitchen-dining facility at the Baptist Vocational Training Center in Frankadua was dedicated. The Rev. David N. Ocansey, Acting General Secretary of the Ghana Baptist Convention, and the Rev. David M. Brown, Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Midland, Michigan, USA, unveiled the commemorative plaque on the new building and cut the ribbon in dedication of the beautiful new addition to the BVTC campus. Support for construction of the building came from First Baptist Church of Midland, Michigan. Rev. Brown and his wife Susan spent two months in Ghana on sabbatical and worked at BVTC. He also taught a course at the Baptist Seminary in Kumasi.
