All Africa Baptist Men’s Fellowship elects new leadership

The All Africa Baptist Men’s Fellowship (AABMF) has elected a new President to run its affairs for the next five (5) years. He is Edison Yuniwo Chimi of Cameroun. The new President was elected at the annual General Council (virtual) meeting held on Saturday 13th February 2021.

Mr. Chimi is a management professional. He is currently the Director of Cabinet to the GM of Cameroun Telecommunications. He also served as the National Chairman of the Cameroun Baptist Convention Men’s Department from 2016 to 2020, and also the Secretary General of the All Africa Baptist Men’s Fellowship from 2016 to 2021. He is married with 5 kids.

General Secretary                                            –              Philip Slaboh (Nigeria)

Missions/Evangelism Co-ordinator           –              Peter Mugali (Uganda)

Treasurer                                                            –              Peter Natsa (Nigeria)

Regional Co-ordinator                                    –              Norbert Rodwell Chabata (Zimbabwe)

In his valedictory address, the out-gone President Dr. Dawari George (Nigeria) appreciated the Baptist men of Africa for their support, and cooperation and encouraged them to extend same to the new leadership. Dr. George who is also the immediate past Vice President of the Men’s Department of the Baptist World Alliance and former President of the Men’s Missionary Union of the Nigerian Baptist Convention took time to share some of his achievements in the last five years in the key areas of the men’s ministry.

In his acceptance speech, the new President, Edison Yuniwo Chimi paid glowing tribute to the leadership of Dr. George under whom he served as General Secretary. He pledged his commitment to building on the gains made by Dr. George in the past five years.

In their respective goodwill messages, the President of the All Africa Baptist Fellowship, Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, and General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Duro Ayanrinola, and Bro. Ayo Badejo, President BWA Men’s Department commended the men for the smooth transition and the great strides the men’s ministry has made in the past five years under Dr. George. Dr. Gyamfi who installed the new lead, urged them to take the work to new levels of growth and consolidate on the gains recorded. He said the parent body was proud of the Men’s ministry and urged the new team to keep up with the good work.
